Kýlingar or Kýlingavatn is a small lake east of Landmannalaugar. It is a shallow lake surrounded by many remote, beautiful mountains and craters. It is one of my favorite places to take a camera for photography, especially when the wind is calm and the lake turns into a mirror. At that point, a lot is added to the frame. The place starts to deliver ay a feeling of calmness and ease. It is a beautiful place to visit and take short walks by the shoreline of the lake. Access is easy if you are driving on the mountain road Fjallabak Nyrðri.
