The southern part of the enormous caldera Torfajökull, Ljósártunga, is an area that few photographers have explored. The unique feature of this landform is the colorful rhyolite mountains. To visit requires a knowledgeable tour guide and a bit of hiking. For photography, it is simply stunning and, in a sense, a hidden gem.
