Fellsfjara is south of Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, both on the east and the west side of the river floating from the lagoon. The beach, the shoreline, is often referred to as Diamond Beach. Sometimes the beach is empty, and at other times it is packed with icebergs. When filled with ice, it is a feast for photography, especially at sunrise in winter. It is an all-season destination in Iceland.
