There are infinitive numbers of craters in Iceland. Many of the most visible and exciting are relatively new in geological terms. Like Valagjá, the craters are often surrounded by black ash and black sand. The whole terrain looking like a scene from the moon or Mars. In any respect, the landscape around Valagjá is worth a visit for a hike and camera gear.
